I support Individualized Healthcare

by BarbyIngle

I reject socialized healthcare IN favor of individualized healthcare, and here is why. I believe increased government control of our healthcare system has caused suffering for people in Arizona, especially those living with chronic and rare conditions.

Cost of socialized healthcare

I oppose banning private health care coverage. Socialized medicine would cost over $52 trillion at a time when this country has already accumulated more than $30 trillion in debt, according to the Heritage Foundation. You and your fellow Americans would not even begin to cover the plans’ costs if proponents raised income taxes, payroll taxes, and other taxes on you and your fellow Americans. I agree with the Heritage Foundation; American taxpayers should not have religious freedoms curtailed. I do not believe in subsidizing abortion coverage. Individuals must be able to exercise their right of conscience regarding faith matters as part of healthcare reform.

Congressional Plans

Congressional plans for socialized health care would severely restrict Arizonans’ ability to purchase medical services outside the government. This way, bureaucrats would rule doctors rather than education, training, and individualized care for their patients, giving Washington veto power over health care decisions.

Unsustainable Plan

Socializing healthcare is unsustainable. Obamacare’s failures have led to people using government-run health care. Health insurance premiums have skyrocketed since the government took control of health insurance, and thousands of Americans have lost their policies. We must overhaul the health system and keep people with chronic and acute health challenges involved. Almost 58 million seniors and disabled Americans would be displaced from Medicare and put in a crowded and costly government-run system under the socialized healthcare proposals.

Limit Access

A socialized healthcare system would further limit healthcare access. Care in countries like Britain and Canada with socialized health care is rationed. These countries have long waiting lists for medical treatment, especially for hospitalization and specialized medical services. For example, even urgent procedures have been canceled due to overburdened systems.

In conclusion

I want to be a part of constructive ideas for healthcare reforms that will give patients more choices, less bureaucracy, and better costs while modernizing and protecting Medicare for seniors and those with disabilities who depend on it.

It is time to fight for sensible, free-market solutions in healthcare.
