About Barby Ingle

Barby Ingle and her husband, Ken Taylor, live in Apache Junction, AZ. They have been together for over 20 years and married in 2007. They love warm weather, working on healthcare access and patient advocacy efforts, and traveling the state to talk to patients and caregivers to find out the needs of Arizonans. Barby has lived in Arizona since 2003. Due to chronic and rare medical conditions, Barby and Ken do not have children of their own. They do have seven nephews and one niece.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from George Mason University. She went on to open her cheerleading and dance training company immediately after graduation in 1994, and Washington State University hired her as their first spirit program coach. At WSU, she leads her dance team to the top 10 and her cheer team into the top 5 in the country. She developed a rare chronic pain condition, Algoneurodystrophy, in September 2002 and was disabled due to the symptoms. She began infusion therapy in December 2009, which she continues to receive 3-5 times a year for pain management.

Family Background

Barby was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and grew up outside Washington, DC, in Woodbridge, VA. Her parents raised Barby and her three siblings (Jim Jr, Marby, and Tim). Both of her parents served in the US Army and are now deceased. Her mother is buried at Arlington National Cemetery with special honors for her service to our country. Barby’s older brother, Jim, is now elected official in Virginia and a business owner. Marby is the head of human resources at a charter school for disabled children. Tim is a business owner who creates animations. All are college graduates and Christians and hold a deep love to serve the community and country we live in. Barby inherited her work ethic and patriotism from her parent’s example. Her parents taught her that true freedom is found through Jesus Christ and self-reliance. Barby grew up with a learning disability and received specialized classes to overcome physical and learning challenges, giving her a full appreciation of hard work, resilience, time management, and patience. She understands the importance and blessings of America’s founding principles and virtues and that the role of government was only to preserve the rights of the people.
