I’ve lived the reality that so many Arizona families face every single day. When the power goes out, it’s not just an inconvenience it can be a crisis. As a chronic pain patient who has battled rare diseases like algoneurodystrophy (RSD/CRPS), I know firsthand how critical reliable energy is for those who are managing complex medical conditions. Infusion pumps, oxygen equipment, temperature-controlled medications, and even basic mobility aids don’t work when the grid fails. Hospitals lose power. Families lose hope. And in rural LD7, where we already fight for every resource, blackouts hit hardest.
That’s why I’m standing up and saying NO to more giant wind farms that destroy our desert views, tank property values, and leave us in the dark when the wind stops blowing. Arizona deserves energy we can depend on, not excuses when the sun sets or the breeze dies down.
My Story: From Wheelchair to Warrior for Real Solutions
In 2002, I went from coaching college cheer and dance teams to being bedridden in a wheelchair, fighting excruciating pain and other symptoms from a rare neuro-autoimmune condition. For years, I relied on faith, family, and sheer determination; plus, treatments that required consistent power for medical devices. I didn’t get better because a government mandate saved me. I improved because I took personal responsibility, surrounded myself with support, and refused to let bureaucracy stand in the way.
Today, I still receive infusion therapy multiple times a year to stay active and upright. I’ve authored/co-authored ten published books, served as Chairman, President and currently Vice President of the International Pain Foundation, serve as the editor of iPain Living Magazine, and advocated for over 100 pieces of legislation across 35 states and at the federal level. I have authored/co-authored seven bills, four of which became Arizona law protecting patient access to care and privacy. I know what it takes to turn pain into purpose.
Now I’m bringing that same fighter’s spirit to the Arizona House. As your LD7 representative, I will champion policies that put patients and families first. I am not for special interests or unreliable “green” experiments that threaten our way of life.
The Real Cost of Unreliable Energy in Rural ArizonaLD7 isn’t Phoenix.
My husband Ken and I are in the rural communities that make Arizona special. Giant turbines don’t just scar our landscapes; they drive up costs, threaten wildlife, and fail when we need them most. When hospitals and homes lose power during peak summer heat or monsoon season, it’s not abstract policy. It’s life or death for seniors, veterans, chronic illness patients, and working families.
I’ve heard from too many constituents:
- The mother whose child’s medical equipment failed during an outage.
- The senior on oxygen who spent hours in the dark wondering if help would come.
- The small business owner watching refrigeration fail and medication spoil.
Reliable energy means coal, natural gas, nuclear (including Small Modular Reactors) — sources that deliver 24/7 power without apologies. It means protecting our water rights, keeping energy affordable, and saying “no more” to mandates that force unreliable technology on rural Arizona.
This isn’t about being anti-environment. It’s about being pro-reality. True conservation comes from good stewardship, not from destroying Arizona’s beauty or bankrupting our families.
Faith, Family, Freedom — And Energy That Supports All Three
My parents raised me on U.S. Army values in Bangkok, Thailand, and Woodbridge, Virginia. They taught me that freedom isn’t free — it requires personal responsibility, limited government, and strong communities. As a proud Christian conservative, wife to Ken Taylor, and aunt who believes family comes first, I see energy policy as a moral issue.
When government forces one-size-fits-all solutions, it weakens families. When big corporations or out-of-state interests push wind farms that don’t deliver, it erodes trust. But when we prioritize reliable, affordable power, we strengthen everything we hold dear: the ability to run our homes, care for our loved ones, and build generational wealth in the communities we love.
That’s the Arizona I’m fighting for in LD7.My Promise to You
When elected to the Arizona House, I will:
- Fight against unreliable wind and solar mandates that threaten our grid.
- Support all-of-the-above energy strategies focused on coal, gas, fusion and fission (advanced nuclear – SMRs)
- Work to protect rural views, property values, and our desert way of life.
- Put Arizonans first, not special interests, at the center of every decision.
I’ve already authored and helped pass legislation. I’ve walked the walk as a patient advocate, precinct committeeman, AZ GOP State Committeeman, and election integrity observer and worker. I’m a proven conservative who shows up for LD7 every day.
