Last month I announced I was an honoree of the 2020 Medigy HITMC Awards. I am now proud to announce that I won the 2020 Medigy HITMC Award in the Patient Advocate of the Year category. Thank you for celebrating with me online. Below is the press release.
Phoenix, AZ — June 30, 2020 – Barby Ingle was named a 2020 Medigy HITMC Award Winner in the Patient Advocate of the Year category.
Patient Advocate of the Year – This award recognizes the activity of an individual in advocating on behalf of patients in healthcare. It honors tireless warriors who are making a difference in the care patients receive locally, regionally or nationally.
Every year, the Healthcare and IT Marketing Community (HITMC) honors the individuals and organizations who distinguished themselves over the past year. Nominations for the Awards are reviewed by a selection committee made up of industry veterans and only three are chosen as Honorees in each category. A panel of judges then evaluates the Honorees and a winner is chosen.
Barby is a chronic pain educator, patient advocate, and president of the International Pain Foundation. She is also a motivational speaker and best-selling author. Barby shares her healthcare story because what happened to her should not happen to others. It took 3 years, 43 providers, and being over-, under- and mis-treated before receiving a proper diagnosis. She wants other rare patients to have an easier time with diagnosis, treatments, and long-term outcomes.
“Barby Ingle is a deserving winner of a 2020 Medigy HITMC Award” said John Lynn, Chief Editor and Founder at Healthcare Scene, the company behind HITMC. “Together, the 2020 Award Winners are a shining example of the best in healthcare marketing. It is truly inspiring to see what happens when bright, passionate people work together.”
“You are so deserving Barby. You have always been an amazing lady and I love ya! Congratulations!”, says Michelle Church Wells.
