AWARDS AND HONORS

Without awards and honors most people will never know what we did. Being recognized by my peers in the pain community on different levels by other patients and organizations has been extraordinary. If I didn’t live in pain I would not be the person I am today and so many people have earned these awards and honors along with me. I am but 1 of millions who work to make a difference in others’ lives. It is always nice to be recognized for sharing my story, helping create tools and resources for others in similar situations to my own. During the past 20 years of living with pain I am so happy to be seen as a leader and taken seriously as an advocate, author and motivational speaker. Even being nominated for many awards has been an unbelievable experience and then actually winning ones like the Neuropathy Action’s You Are Our Hero Award and the Invisible Disability Association’s Impact award was truly breathtaking. The pain industry recognition of my personal accomplishments within the pain community from those who offer similar services to what my own nonprofit provides is very humbling. When I reflect on the honors place on me, I remember one of my favorite quotes directly related to a cause that chose me, “The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but rather where they stand during times of challenge and crisis”.

#12 on Disruptor Daily’s list of 25 First-Rate Pharma Influencers
Apr 2018
The collective of individuals and businesses that comprise the larger Pharma industry is an essential population to the future of health for humans across the globe. The evolution of modern pharmaceutical practices can be traced back as far as the Sumerians, and the industry has come quite a ways since theoretical models were used only to predict what pharmaceuticals may be capable of preventing and curing. In 2018, the technological revolution has allowed the incorporation of Big Data, AI, and other invaluable tools within Pharma practices, and that trend will only continue as industry professionals come to better understand applications at the crossroads of pharmaceuticals and technology.

These Pharma influencers – whether they are medical professionals, reporters, or otherwise – are helping to move the industry forward, and their insights on where the Pharma industry is headed and what that means for prescribers, doctors, and patients is well worth our time.

Panic Girl: Barby Ingle

Todd Hollers’s Panic Girl Press, by April Brucker

Author, activist, motivational speaker, and former cheerleader Barby Ingle has been touring the country and appearing on TV shows advocating for people with RSD as well as others with chronic pain. As someone who suffers from chronic pain, Barby has become a fearless advocate for those in the grips of this debilitating condition. As someone who suffers from RSD herself, Barby is an inspiration because she does not let it limit her, but rather it makes her move forward at the speed of light. Barby also appears regularly on younow.com as a talking head, serving as a role model to young women around the world. A mix of beauty, grace, and a ‘lil butt kicking spunk, Barby Ingle was easily this week’s Panic Girl.
